30 Meter Digtial Auto Spotters
Information
30 Meter Digital Auto Spotter Information:

Sholto KE7HPV creator of the 30 Meter Digital Spot Page came up with a unique idea
of using MultiPSK software along with a program Sholto created to list 'Auto' Spots to
the 30 Meter Digital Spot Page in real time.  Real time meaning if you call CQ using
BPSK in the PSK area on 30 Meters will most likely be detected by one of our 'Auto'
Spotters within 30 seconds to 1 minute of the time you called CQ.

So how do these 'Auto' Spots work?  Well, if you keep the Internet 30 Meter Digital Spot
Page open on your computer and call CQ in BPSK31 on the 30 Meter band (10.140 +/-
1000 USB) there is a good chance you will be 'Auto' spotted by one of the 'Auto'
Spotters placed in different areas of the World (Auto Spot information is on the right
side of the 30 Meter Digital Spot Page).  The 'Auto' Spotters need only a registered
version of MultiPSK and Sholto's Spot Program to 'Auto' spot BPSK31 signals on the 30
Meter Band in the 10.1400 to 10.1425 range.  The 'Auto' Spotters are receive only so
BPSK31 signals heard are automatically reported to the spot page (although spotters
can choose to auto spot BPSK31, QPSK31 or RTTY signals if they so
choose....majority of operators are using BPSK31).   Most of the 'Auto' Spotters run
24/7 or when they are in the shack (usually more than one auto spotter is always
operating).  This is real time spotting as it happens.  Real time meaning if you call CQ
using BPSK in the PSK area on 30 Meters will most likely be detected by one of our
'Auto' Spotters within 30 seconds to 1 minute of the time you called CQ or made that
contact.

One other feature on the 30 Meter Digital Spot page is a link right at the top of the auto
spot section called 'Expand'.  What does 'Expand' do?  If you click that you will get just
the 'Auto Spot' information of not only what station was heard on the 30 Meter Band but
who that station was in contact with.  One page can scroll some 250 auto spots to
review.

As you can see by the map below we have 'Auto' Spotters in NA, EU and OC (VK).  We
are in need of an 'Auto' Spotter in SA, AF, and AS so if you are interested or know
someone who might be interested from SA, AF, or AS to help auto spot 30 Meter Band
conditions please email kb9umt@30meterdigital.org  (again all that is needed is a
receiver, antenna (simple dipole or random wire), registered copy of MultiPSK and we
will help you with the rest so you can start 'Auto' spotting to help us with propagation
information on 30 Meters in different areas of the World).  Hams or SWL's can 'Auto'
Spot so you do not have to be a Ham operator to help if interested in the areas we are
in need of spotters.

Give our 'Auto' Spots a try and give out a few CQ's or better yet make some contacts on
30 Meter PSK (10.140 +/- 1000 BPSK31 USB) and see if you are picked on our auto
spots in real time.
